How to apply
Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). When submitting the application, the candidate is required to provide copies of all relevant certificates and academic transcripts of studies. Application forms and supporting documents should be submitted via one of the following means –
(a) by post to the Administration Section, Office of the Government Economist, Financial Secretary’s Office, Room 2576, 25/F, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the position of Research Analyst” (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of application). To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Office and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage;
(b) by hand to the application drop-in box of Office of the Government Economist located at the Staff Entrance, 2/F., East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the position of Research Analyst”. The drop-in box is available from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) and up till 5:00 p.m. on the closing date of application; or
(c) through on-line facilities on the Civil Service Bureau homepage at http://www.csb.gov.hk. Candidates who applied online should submit copies of supporting documents on or before 9 July 2020 to the contact address and the online application number should be quoted on the envelope and the copies of all supporting documents.
Applications which are incomplete, late or submitted by fax or email, or not made in the prescribed form, or without the required supporting documents will not be considered. Please do not send any originals of transcripts/certificates.
Applicants should provide their email addresses on the application forms. Applicants may be required to attend recruitment examination and/or interview(s). Candidates who are selected for recruitment examination and/or interview(s) will normally receive an invitation by email or by post in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for recruitment examination and/or interview(s) may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. Only candidates who are selected for recruitment examination and/or interview(s) will be notified.
