Entry Requirements

(a) A bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) Have met the language proficiency requirements of:
(i) Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent; or
(ii) Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (for the purpose of appointment of non-civil service contract staff, 'Grade C' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(c) Have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
(d) Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in interface with a wide spectrum of non-governmental organisations, community organisations and the public;
(e) Have high proficiency in the application of common business software (including both Chinese and English Word Processing, PowerPoint and Excel);
(f) Have at least one year of post-qualification full-time working experience in administrative / project management;
(g) Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in public administration / non-profit making organisations (NPOs) / district affairs and/or in accounting.
Remarks
 

Duties

To provide administrative and executive support including:
(a) To monitor the progress of approved district projects and activities and organising/co-ordinating district programmes and activities initiated by District Office/District Council;
(b) To vet regular financial and progress reports from District Council, other government departments, NPOs and/or business organisations;
(c) To assist in the coordination, overseeing and review of the district projects, including preparing submissions to government departments, the Legislative Council and the District Council;
(d) To provide secretarial and logistical support to committees and meetings;
(e) To assist in the coordination and organisation of publicity and public relations activities concerning the district projects;
(f) To maintain and manage the relevant documents including information on the website for district projects;
(g) To assist in administrative, financial, procurement and contract management matters of district projects;
(h) To assist in processing payment claims, liaising with District Council, other government departments, NPOs and/or business organisations and compiling statistics, etc;
(i) To provide administrative support to matters in relation to Community Centre / Community Hall booking application processing and office administration;
(j) To handle enquiries and queries from the public and other organisations; and
(k) To undertake other duties as and when required.

Terms of Appointment

(a) Candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. \r\n(b) A contract shorter than 12 months may be offered to successful candidates due to specific operational needs. Further renewal should be subject to satisfactory performance, operational needs and availability of resources. \r\n(c) May need to work on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays or at non-office hours upon requests. \r\n(d) Required to work outdoor and irregular hours if necessary.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$26,000 per month
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
