Entry Requirements

Applicants should have: –
(a) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note : “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(b) Level 2 / Grade E or above in Mathematics in the HKDSEE or the HKCEE;
(c) proficiency in the use of computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint;
(d) good Chinese and English typing skills;
(e) ability to lift heavy objects; and
(f) relevant working experience preferred.
Remarks
Candidates may be required to attend a skill test to lift heavy object on the day of interview.
 

Duties

The main duties include –
(a) to perform data processing and analysis;
(b) to provide logistics support to the office and to perform general clerical work such as filing;
(c) to assist in carrying out field operation including carrying bulky equipment items and taking care the safety measures for the public during inspection;
(d) to handle public enquiries and processing applications for permits; and
(e) to perform outdoor duties such as dispatch of documents.

(Other Job-related Requirements: (a) The place of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to work outdoors occasionally. (b) The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs but will not exceed 17.5 hours per week. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period. (c) Successful candidates are normally required to work during office hours on weekdays (i.e. Monday to Friday), and may be required to work during irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.)

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for not more than one year.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$73 per hour
The candidate is not entitled to any fringe benefit normally applicable to a full time staff under the Employment Ordinance (including but not limit to paid annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, etc.), unless the employment undertaken by the employee for the Government constitutes a “continuous contract”. No gratuity will be granted at the end of the contract period.

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Applications submitted in person or by post should reach the Enquiry Address on or before the closing date for application. Please specify the position being applied for on the envelope (Note 1). To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate.
