Entry Requirements

(a) Five subjects of Level 2 or above in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, including either Chinese Language or English Language, or equivalent; or
Five subjects at Grade E or above in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), including either Chinese Language or English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) or equivalent [see Note]; and

(b) Able to speak Cantonese and English. Fluency in other spoken language(s) or dialect(s) would be an advantage.
Remarks
‘Level 2’ in the 2007 HKCEE or henceforth is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Grade E’ in the HKCEE before 2007.
 

Duties

(a) To assist the District Office staff in the preparation work of the Voter Registration Campaign;
(b) To assist the District Office staff in carrying out household visits to register new voters and update voters’ information;
(c) To assist the District Office staff in setting up Voter Registration counters throughout the district;
(d) To assist the District Office staff in organising any activities related to the Voter Registration Campaign;
(e) To assist the District Office staff in answering Voter Registration related enquiries; and
(f) Any other duties relating to the Voter Registration Campaign as assigned by the District Office staff.

Terms of Appointment

(a) Successful candidates will be appointed on Non-civil Service Contract Terms. \r\n(b) Employment period: April 2020 to 2 May 2020\r\n(c) Hours of work: Irregular hours around the period from 9:00am to 11:00pm on any days, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as and when required.\r\n(d) Location of Workplace: Wong Tai Sin District Area (Includes households and outdoor areas)\r\n

Salary and Fringe Benefits

$59 per hour
(Bonus available at a rate of $3.6 for every valid voter registration form collected during the work period, up to a maximum amount of $992 per month)
5% MPF contribution, plus Employment Ordinance benefits (as appropriate)

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below enquiry address.
(h) The personal data provided in application forms will be used for recruitment and other employment-related purposes. It may be provided to Government departments and other organisations or agencies authorised to process the information for purposes relating to recruitment by and employment with the Government, e.g. qualification assessment, medical examination, employer’s reference and integrity checking etc, as necessary.

How to apply

Application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of the Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application forms should be sent by mail or by hand to 6/F, Lung Cheung Office Block, 138 Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin, KLN on or before the closing date for application with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the Position of Voter Registration Assistant”. For submission by post, the deadline is based on the stamp chop date. For submission in person, the application should reach the specified address by 6:00 p.m. on the closing date.

All candidates are required to provide details of the post title, duties and nature of their working experience in the application form. Applications which are not made in the prescribed form, or incomplete, or late, or submitted by fax / email will not be considered. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about 8 to 10 weeks from the closing date for application. This period may be longer in exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received . Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

This office may communicate with the candidates by email. Candidates are advised to mark their email address clearly on the application form and check their email account. Candidates should bring along the following documents when attending the interview: (i)HKID Card; (ii) Original and copy of academic proof; (iii) Original and copy of employment proof; and (iv) One recent photo.
