Entry Requirements

Candidates should –

(a) possess a Certificate of Registration (Part I) issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
(b) possess a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
(c) be able to read and write Chinese and English; and
(d) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.

Duties

Performing nursing duties in relation to the COVID-19 emergency operation including –
1. conducting health assessment and medical surveillance, collecting samples and coordinating communication at quarantine camps;
2. issuing quarantine orders, conducting health assessment and medical surveillance at boundary control points;
3. manning hotlines, conducting contact tracing of persons under home quarantine; and
4. any other COVID-19 related nursing duties.

Note: required to work irregular hours or perform shift duties to provide 24-hour coverage, work on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and perform outdoor duties.

Terms of Appointment

A successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for six months. Working time per week will be less than 18 hours.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

HK$187 per hour
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/ Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Application Forms (G.F. 340 [(Rev. 3/2013)]) are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).

The application period for the post of Part-time Contract Nurse is from 26 May 2020 (Tuesday) to 8 June 2020 (Monday). Applications submitted in person or by post should reach the above contact address. Please specify the title of the post being applied for on the envelope. For applications submitted by post, the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. As for qualifications obtained from institutions outside Hong Kong, copies of the relevant transcripts/ diplomas/ certificates or other qualification documents should be submitted together with the completed application forms.
