Entry Requirements

(1) Completed Secondary 3, or equivalent; and
(2) Attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Secondary 3 standard.
Remarks
 

Duties

(1) To perform manual sorting and mail handling duties;
(2) To assist in facing and collection of mail;
(3) To perform general clerical duties; and
(4) To undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Notes:
(a) Work Location: Any regions in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories
(b) Working Hours: 18 to 42 hours per week, 3 to 7 hours per day(excluding meal break)

Terms of Appointment

The successful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one to two months.

General Notes

(a) Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) The selection interview will be held as scheduled when No. 3 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal or lower, and / or the \"Amber\" or \"Red\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or \"Black\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 7am on the day of interview, or an announcement is made that such warning signal(s) will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled before 1pm will be cancelled. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or \"Black\" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 12 noon on the day of interview, or announcement is made that such warning signals will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled after 1pm will be cancelled. The Department will inform applicants of the rescheduling of interviews.

Application Forms [G .F .340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates may apply: (a) by submitting the completed application form [G .F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] in person to the drop box provided at 1/F, Hongkong Post Headquarters, 2 Connaught Place, Central, Hong Kong (opening hours : Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 6:30pm and Saturday – 7:30am to 1:30pm, except Sunday and public holiday); or (b) by post, forwarding a completed application form to the above enquiry address. Please specify \"Application for the Post of Temporary Sorting Office Assistant” on the envelope. The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the enquiry address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. Applications submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as required, or if applications with incomplete or unclear information, late applications, duplicate applications, not duly signed, or not made in the prescribed form, their applications will not be considered. Candidates who are invited for the interview will normally receive an invitation within 2 to 4 weeks from the closing date for application.
